TeleEye Fought Against Muck Theft!

Self-contained and vandal resistant Sentry Box Outstanding in a field of sludge.

The theft-attracting aluminium panels.

Large aluminium panels have attracted thieves but
Tele
Eye manages to tackle the problem.

Robertson Environsystems specialises in the disposal of effluent sludge which is, the left over solids from sewage processing plants and is used as fertiliser in farms. The company's owner, Hugh Robertson has employed TeleEye RX Video Recording Server and speed domes named as Sentry Box for security management.

Hugh designed to use tracking, strong 3m2 panels of aluminium panels to make a temporary roadway for the lorries to unload sludge onto muddy fields. Each panel is worth ?200 new and has a scrap value of around ?50. The panels are laid in a remote location, making them an easy theft target. A guard is at risk of challenging thieves as most sites are with little or no network coverage. A Sentry Box is useful then.

The Sentry Box comprises a pole carrying TeleEye dome camera and a vandal proof box containing a generator and batteries which power the CCTV system, unattended, for 10 days. It is linked to wireless sensors locating in trees or on the pole itself. If movement is detected the system will trigger alarms, off site monitoring and flood the area with light using three, pole mounted 1000 Watt flood lights. Using a TeleEye RX Video Recording Server, the system can be contolled and the camera images can be viewed via 3G using a PC. All sites are given a unique reference number so that a police response will occur if necessary. Sentry Box then arranges monitoring and incident response with a security company local to the site, notifying the person responsible for the site by phone or email of any incidents.

The boxes are also used in remote site monitoring, disaster sites and crime scenes, where it is too dangerous to have manned guarding. They are regularly used at outdoor events and festivals and by the police and military as an alternative to a CCTV van which is often a target for vandalism.
